Linear Draft was founded in Belgrade in September 1995 by Borko and Rastko. Srba joined later, in 1996, and Istok became part of the band sometime during the Student Protest of 1996/97. In late 1997 the band decided to go public and present its work, starting with the radio. The first single to hit the charts was "Jazzy Fields", which was a big success in Belgrade. It reached the top places of several Belgrade radio charts (B92, Studio B, Radio Politika), and this jazzy house tune, with its very nice and recognizable theme, widened the circle of the band's listeners and sympathizers.

Linear Draft have not released any albums yet, but they are well known and people like to listen to their work. "Jazzy Fields" was followed by a TV interview on Studio B and many appearances on radio stations. The first gig, a live act, was held at club Plima, where they played with Boris Petrović and DJ Milan Drča, but the real thing happened at club Industria, in association with the Kozmik DJs Vlada Janjić and Gordan Paunović, on 24 April 1998. Two more appearances followed at Plima with DJ Milan Drča, and a solo gig at Urba Bar (Barutana).

In July 1998 Srba moved to New Zealand, so he is now considered a distant (modem) member.

The music they make is not strictly bound to genres. As they see it, it is a way of expressing thoughts and emotions, limited only by that.
