WOLFGANG S./ VUKAN BIOGRAPHY
Vukan Stojanovic, aka WOLFGANG S., is a successful underground electronic music producer from Belgrade (Yugoslavia). He is a pioneer of Yugoslav electronic (techno/house) music. This artist has two different projects: The first is WOLFGANG S., specialized for club (dance) rhythms. WOLFGANG S. likes to 'drive' between many House styles: Disco, Deep, 2 Step, Latino and many others. The second project is VUKAN - this is down-tempo music inspired by Jazz, Ambient, TripHop and Techno music. This music is ideal for movies. Follow the MP3 SAMPLES link and hear MP3 tracks from both Vukans projects. He is intersted to license his music around the globe! If you like his music - contact him!
Vukan Stojanovic was born in Belgrade (Serbia, Yugoslavia) in 1973. where he is living and working today. He graduated music school for piano and clarinet and have been writting and performing electronic music since 1991., when he formed his first MIDI studio. He has been writing music from 1994. under the title WOLFGANG S. Now, he is known in Yugoslavia as an underground artist who had many live performances in clubs, raves, radio and TV stations. Vukan writes music for theatre, commercials and avantgarde artgroups. Also, WOLFGANG S. was engaged by several labels to Remix songs of Yugoslav popular artists. One of them, Remix 'Zapremina Tela' (Darkwood Dub), appears on soundtrack CD 'Munje'.
His beginnings were in Trance and Acid-House styles, then he went into pure Techno-Ambient and Electro-Jazz. His first demos were broadcasted on YU Radio (100.4 FM) in November 1994. Track "Crna Rupa" (Black Hole) won the first place at Radio B92's (*) Chart (January 1995). His first live act was in March 1995 in Belgrade's famous club "Industria". This halfhour act was reproduced at YU Radio one month later. In June 95 WOLFGANG S. released his first LP "Uticaj Svemira" (Space Influence) and this LP was the first official Yugoslav techno release, published by ITV MM. Soon after the LP, he released a video for the track "Black Hole". Soon, his tracks were broadcasted on many radio and TV stations.

WOLFGANG S. had many liveacts in Yugoslavia and after that, he played Techno live, for the first time in Yugoslavia, on TV RTS 3K (February 1996) and at radio B92 (September 1996). Of course, he has many track releases on CDs for different record labels (See Discography). He is inspired with Jazzy/Disco/Deep House and Ambient, Techno and Jazz music. His Ambient-Jazz track "Magla" (Fog) hit the first place on Radio B92 (November 1996) and this track was declared as "Demo Of The Month" in British Future Music magazine (FM issue 52, January 1997). Also, this track appeared on FM CD in 23,000 copies.
"...this track had me slightly perplexed. Difficult to pinpoint in terms of style and influence, "Fog" just cruises along with a super-cool swing beat throwing around all manner of unusual and absorbing sounds - and barely a cliche in earshot...Vukan creates an engagingly quirky hybrid. With a seductive loose groove, and those avant-garde touches, this track stands apart for both his out-of-the-ordinariness and its unaffected musicality...Vukan's tracks stay mercifully clear of the comainducing end of the market, retaining credible vitality and freshness, even in the beat-free, low bpm moments....the end results are fresh and uncorrupted, stamping a distinctive mark on Vukan's music..." Derek O'Sullivan, Future Music CD Editor At the beginning of 1998, Vukan's track "Podzemni Prolaz" (Underground Passage) appeared on another Future Music CD - he was between five most successful artist in 1997 (Future Music, Issue 65, January 1998).
Vukan Stojanovic (keyboards/groovbox/fx) Vukan produced the first deep house remix of one Yugoslav commercial song "... Da pricamo o!" by Bebi Dol (February 1996). His singles: Fancy Street, I Want You, Disko Masina (Disco Machine), Polako (Slowly) and many other tracks (see MP3 SAMPLES), hit the first places on radio B92 and radio Studio B (**) in year of 1997/98. All of these House tracks were released on "hauzmajstor" LP for his new label FOG Records. After LP 'hauzmajstor' he started to release his own music under FOG Records. The last one is new WOLFGANG S. LP 'Plastic Stereo' (2002) (see MP3 SAMPLES). (*) Radio B92 - won MTV 'Open Mind' award for 1999. (**) Studio B - popular TV and radio station (from Belgrade) for last 25 years.
